unity, the rendering of loving service toward all creation and the striving

for righteousness, justice and peace as revealed and taught by our Savior

Jesus Christ.

ARTICLE III  DOCTRINE

This Church regards the Bible as the sufficient rule of faith and practice,

and holds that living in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ is the

true test of fellowship.  Each member shall have the undisturbed right to

follow the Word of God according to the dictates of his or her own conscience.

We take as our expression of Faith, the statement approved by the Executive

Council of the United Church of Christ, October 31, 1981.

"STATEMENT OF FAITH"

We believe in you, O God, Eternal Spirit, God of our Savior Jesus Christ and

our God, and to your deeds we testify:

You call the worlds into being

create persons in your own image,

and set before each one the ways of life and death.

You seek in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin.

You judge people and nations by your righteous will

                                declared through prophets and apostles.

In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Savior,

                                you have come to us

                                and shared our common lot,

                                conquering sin and death

and reconciling the world to yourself.

You bestow upon us your Holy Spirit,

creating and renewing the church of Jesus Christ,

binding in covenant faithful people of all ages,

                                tongues, and races.

You call us into your church

to accept the cost and joy of discipleship,

to be your servants in the service of others,

to proclaim the gospel to all the world

and resist the powers of evil,

to share in Christ's baptism and eat at his table,

to join him in his passion and victory.

You promise to all who trust you

forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace,

courage in the struggle for justice and peace,

your presence in trial and rejoicing,

and eternal life in your realm which has no end.

Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto you.

                                   Amen.

ARTICLE IV  POLITY (GOVERNMENT)

The government of this Church is vested in its members who exercise the right

of control in all its affairs, subject in legal matters to the provisions of

the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut.  Although its polity is in

accord with the Congregational order of the United Church of Christ which

allows each Church the liberty to determine its faith, worship, and discipline

independently of any other Church or body of churches, this Church accepts the

duty of cooperation with other churches as no less binding than the

maintenance of its liberty and independence, and recognizes and affirms its

fellowship with the Tolland Association of the United Church of Christ, the

Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ and the United Church of

Christ of the United States.

ARTICLE V  MEMBERSHIP

Section 3 - Reception

Persons recommended by the Board of Deacons, having been approved by vote at a

enlist that member's active interest either by personal contact or by letter

addressed to the last known place of residence before the name is presented to

the Church for a vote to transfer him or her to an inactive membership list.

Restoration to active membership can be accomplished by becoming active in

attendance and support of the Church.  Inactive membership terminates any and

be in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the United Church of

Christ.

F. When there is growing dissatisfaction between the Pastor and the Church
either party may present its grievance to the Pastoral Relations Committee for
consideration.

If the Pastoral Relations Committee cannot remedy the grievance, after

consultation with both parties, it shall present the grievance to the Board of
